Smile...

You know how I always say I have trouble with splatter?  As in, I need "control"?  Well...the same goes for this new "thread" trend.  It's hard for me.  The thread needs to be in the right place.  If not, it can't stay.  SO, this set from PTI is an easy fix for me.  I'll call this one "controlled thread", aka Circle Scribbles.    Nice huh?

I stamped the image in Versamark and then heat embossed it with with Filigree powder.  I added in a die from Sweet Speech with a sentiment from Phrase Play #2. The little flair and the pattern paper are both from Studio Calico.

I love it when I have control over these things.  lol!   Hope you have a great day! Thanks for coming by!

hello, beautiful...

So I am coming to you live from my couch.  I have a little bit of a health issue at the moment that is making things not so much fun, but hoping to get back to normal very soon.  I thought I would stop in and share a card I made at a girls weekend awhile back.

This card features the new Simon Says Stamp set called Summer Garden.  I am pretty sure I have raved about it already, so I will rave about it some more.  The font.  It's all about that gorgeous font!

I used the new die called Tall Flowers and put them across the panel that is 4 1/4" x 5".  This makes it as wide as an A2 card but shorter.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and attached it by wrapping around the front panel.  I popped the whole panel up on a 4" x 5 1/2" card front.  Kinda different but I like how it changes things up.  At first it was hard to leave this way....with the front panel kinda different...but I think its kinda fun.

Hope all is well where you are!  We are gearing up for the last day of school this week.  CRAZY.  It's going to be a long summer.  That is all I can say about that.

Have a great rest of your weekend!  Hugs!

Wish upon a birthday star...

Have you seen this new Stars cover plate from PTI?  I sorta love it.  Here is a quick CAS card using the cover plate and the Simple Stars stamp set....(sorry for the dark photo...it was raining the other day)...

IMG_1635

I stamped the sentiment in Enchanted Evening and then popped a single star.  I love how these plates have a spot for a sentiment.  Packs a punch!

I had several questions about this card from the PTI release....

IMG_1598

I die cut a piece of vellum and used it as a stencil.  I used Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuese and Hawaiian Shores to make the rainbow.  These inks blend AMAZING.  The colors are gorgeous!

After inking the stencil up, I took the Phrase Play #3 die and die cut the stars as well as 5 other white panels.  I stacked them up to make a dimensional die cut and then attached them to the card front.  I added in the "birthday girl" in Provincial Gray Fresh Ink to finish it off.

I can't wait to see your star cover plate creations!  This is definitely a fun one to have in your stash!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Mini Blender's make me happy...

I'm sure by now you have seen the new round Tim Holtz blenders.  Well....I love them.  They are so fun and so much easier to use.  I made this card a couple weeks ago and needed to come share....

IMG_1667

I used this simon says stencil right on my card base.  Instead of blending the ink, I inked up the whole blender and just blotted, leaving the round image of the blender, kinda like a circle stamp.  I did this until the whole card front was covered and I thought it made a fun effect.  I added in a sentiment from the new Simon set called Butterflies.  I inked it up in Versafine Black Onyx, cut it out and then used a black marker to color the edges.  I popped it up on foam tape to finish it off.

That is all I have for today!  Did you stay out of the Easter candy?  Well....guilty.  I am headed to the gym now to work it off.  I just can't help it.  I love peeps.  I know, gross right?  I know they are so bad....but oh so good!  :)

Have a great Monday!
